Oral hygiene
Oral hygiene is of extreme importance during the orthodontic therapy.
After placement of the fixed appliance, the patient receives advice for extra care regarding proper oral hygiene of the teeth and the appliance itself.
It is important to note that while wearing a fixed appliance, it is not and cannot be, the cause of caries, but the culprit is poor oral hygiene. Regular visits to your dentist and good oral hygiene are the best prerequisites for successful orthodontic therapy.
