In order to determine the cost of the orthodontic appliance for the patient, it is important to make a diagnosis first (determine the nature of the orthodontic problem) and make a treatment plan. Most often it is necessary to make photo documentation, make plaster models and analyze X-rays , OPT and lateral cephalograms (the images are made in the X-ray cabinet outside the orthodontic office according to the referrals).
The price is determined according to the analyzed material. That part does not oblige the patient to consent to the treatment.
What detemines the price of the orthodontic appliance?
The cost of the fixed appliance is also determined after diagnosing the nature of the orthodontic problem. The patient is charged the price of the treatment, at no additional cost. The price includes the whole treatment from the moment of the fixed appliance being set up until the end of the treatment, which includes all the adaptations during the course of the therapy (usually about 2 years), as well as the retention appliance (an appliance that is worn after removing the fixed appliance to maintain the position of the teeth). It differs in relation to the type of brackets selected (the elements of the appliance that are glued to the teeth). There are metal and ceramic brackets. Ceramic brackets increase the overall cost of the treatment.
There are various payment methods. There is a modality of advance payment, when it is possible for the patient to prepay 50% of the agreed price at the beginning of treatment and pay the rest successively at the controls during the treatment, in such a way the entire debt is paid by the time the fixed appliance is being removed. Often patients can reimburse the costs through the firm they work for. In that case, we prepare all the necessary documentation.
